JONATHAN SCHWARTZ and JOHN WIMBS each have more than 20 years of experience in entertainment PR, marketing and communications, with a specialty in the broadcast and performing arts industries in Toronto, London and New York, and for major theatrical touring productions across Canada and the United States. JONATHAN SCHWARTZ is a veteran entertainment public relations and communications director of 25 years, specializing in live entertainment, film and television, and is a certified IATSE Local 667 Unit Publicist. He has built a reputation with for his personal attention to each project by taking on limited clients with projects that he really believes in, and for seeing each project through from production to broadcast to awards season. 

 

A selected list of television projects includes Garth Drabinsky’s national performing arts competition Triple Sensation (CBC), MVP, Republic of Doyle, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, the K-pop inspired Make It Pop! for Nickelodeon, most-recently the critically acclaimed Kim’s Convenience that has become popular around the world on Netflix, and the highly anticipated spinoff STRAYS.  

 

In New York, Jonathan represented several major Broadway shows, including the original production of the cult-favorite Side Show, John Leguizamo’s Freak, Saturday Night Fever, and the legendary, original long-running Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Cats. He also toured North America with renowned pianist David Helfgott, the inspiration for the film Shine.

JOHN WIMBS has built a long-time career in marketing and public relations with more than 25 years of experience as an entertainment communications strategist. 

 

In 2019 he wrapped 12 years as a director of communications at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, where he headed the publicity, events and talent management teams that launched literally hundreds of programs and products across all content areas, including large-scale fan events, annual upfront presentations, national publicity tours, industry conferences and panels, and produced several red carpets for the Canadian Screen Awards. He also led the award-winning #fallforCBC brand campaign, and developed the national public engagement strategy for the broadcaster’s Canada 150 activities in 2017.

 

Prior to that, John had already built a successful career in live entertainment, representing Broadway shows in Toronto, New York and across North America, including The Phantom of the Opera, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (starring Donny Osmond), Beauty and the Beast, the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind, and a season at the Tony Awards® broadcast from Radio City Music Hall.
